Marcos school grads in top 10 list of board passers

LAOAG CITY – The Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU) continues to be at par with the country’s best schools after the Professional Regulatory Commission released the list of passers in the National Licensure Examination for Pharmacist and Nurses.
MMSU’s graduates landed second in the 2015 Pharmacist Board Examination and sixth place in the 2014 Nursing Board Examination, respectively.

Of the 88 Pharmacy graduates who took the test, 71 passed garnering an 80.68 percentage passing rate – a record too high compared with the 56.29 percent national passing rate.
Among the total MMSU takers, 72 were first timers and 16 were repeaters. Sixty-three of the first timers passed, while 8 of the repeaters made it.
There are total of 1,292 passers throughout the country culled from the 2,295 examinees that desired to obtain a PRC license this year.
Meanwhile, MMSU made waves in the November 2014 Nurse Licensure Examination landing sixth among 481 schools and producing four topnotchers in the list.

The university’s passing rate is 95 percent against the 57.29 percent national average.
Of the 120 MMSU examinees, 118 were first-timers while 2 were repeaters. MMSU’s 114 passers include 113 first-timers and 1 repeater.
President Mirriam E. Pascua in the university’s official website congratulated the passers and thanked them for bringing honor and pride to the MMSU.
“Our congratulations and commendations to all our passers in the licensure exam, most especially to our four topnotchers. You made it! Praise God. Truly, you have embraced excellence as a way of life. We are very proud of you!” Pascua said.
PRC has released the results for the Pharmacist Board Exam on January 21 and on January 23 for the Nurses’ board exam. (MCA/CDG, PIA-1, Ilocos Norte)
