Navy nabs fishermen involved in illegal fishing

Agoo, La Union– Navy operatives arrested at least 10 fishermen involved in alleged illegal fishing along Pangasinan and La Union shores earlier this month.
Ensign Bernard Sabado, Naval Forces Northern Luzon (NFNL) chief for civil military operations, said the fishermen on board F/B Esperanza 1 and F/B Brianna Rae were found engaged in alleged commercial fishing within the 15 kilometer-prohibited zone from the shorelines.
Arrested were F/B Brianna Rae Captain Mario Perez and his four-member crew and F/B Esperanza 1 Captain Dionisio Rivera and his four crew members.
The fishing boats were turned over to the Bauang Police, Sabado said. (MCA/MPA/PIA1 La Union with NFNL)
