Camp Diego Silang, Carlatan, San Fernando City, Sept 5 (PIA) – To the La Union police provincial office, police visibility also means providing community service to those who need it most.
At least 152 residents availed of a medical and dental outreach program last August 31 in Brgy Dagup, Bagulin, La Union.
Senior Supt. Ramon L. Rafael, PNP provincial director, said community services likewise give flesh to police visibility.
“This is one way of showing that the men and women (of LUPPO) are seen, felt and experienced by the community,” Rafael said.
Marlon D. Paiste, Police community relations and public information chief, said the outreach program was part of the PNP La Union’s service to poor communities like Bagulin.
Paiste said barangay Dagup was chosen as recipient after profiling showed that the village had indigent residents. The town is also considered the sixth poorest local government in the country.
The program was put together by the La Union PNP Health Service Office personnel the Provincial Government of La Union including volunteer dentists, doctors and nurses.
