DAGUPAN CITY, Mar. 9 (PIA) — The Region I Medical Center (R1MC) here is bent on earning the prestigious certification given by the International Standards Organization (ISO) for quality service.
Dr. Jocelyn De Guzman, medical specialist in the hospital said R1MC has set criteria to achieve the quality management system which is at par with international standards.
De Guzman said R1MC aims to provide the highest quality services to all patients regardless of their economic status.
“We want to be globally competitive and at the same time provide affordable medical care,” De Guzman said during the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster (KBP) Forum held at the Philippine Information Agency Office on Thursday.
She said the quest for ISO Certification signals the start of a big development in the hospital for a more efficient and effective service.
Meanwhile, Rosauro Catabay, chief nurse and also a guest at the KBP Forum, said R1MC is one of only four hospitals under the Department of Health to undergo the modernization program.
Part of the modernization is the provision of state-of-the art facilities, construction of an 11-storey medical building, and proper training and customer relations for its employees.
R1MC’s focus, he said, is for customer satisfaction and its commitment is to deliver quality health care to the public in consonance with the government’s goals under the Philippine Development Plan. (JCRA/VHS-PIA1 Pangasinan)
