SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Feb 1 (PIA1) — A notorious pusher ranked number 1 in the priority target list in Ilocos Region was finally nabbed in a buy-bust operation on January 24.
PDEA Regional Office 1 said, the suspect, 25, is from Barangay Lioac Norte, Naguilian, La Union.
The pusher, the top priority targeted drug personality for neutralization in the region, fell in the hands of PDEA Regional Office 1 (PDEA – 1) under Director Jeoffrey Tacio, after he sold four sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu to a PDEA agent disguised as a buyer in Barangay Lioac.
Various drug paraphernalia and two P500-marked bills used during the transaction were confiscated from the suspect.
Undersecretary and PDEA Director General Arturo G. Cacdac Jr. said that as mandated, their agency strictly conduct operations in a manner that is well-planned, well-documented, and in accordance with the provisions of the anti-drug law, to ensure air-tight cases against drug offenders, leading to their incarceration and conviction.
“We had him under tight surveillance for some time because of his involvement in the proliferation of shabu in the municipalities of Naguilian and Bauang, La Union,” Cacdac said, adding that PDEA is determined in going after high value and high impact targets in the regions.
Two suspected pushers, were also apprehended by agents of PDEA RO1 Pangasinan Sector Special Enforcement Team after they conspired in selling four sachets of shabu weighing approximately 17.2 grams to a poseur-buyer along Palaris Street, Poblacion, San Carlos City, Pangasinan on January 22.
The three suspects now face charges for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
An additional charge for violation of possessing drug paraphernalia (Section 12) was also filed against the first suspect. (ANL/MPA-PIA 1 La Union with reports from PDEA-R1)
