SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Jan. 24 (PIA) — Promotion is an acknowledgement of professional competence and higher rank not merely implies greater authority but also greater responsibility and discipline.
This is what Police Chief Superintendent Ricardo C. Marquez emphasized during the mass oath-taking and donning of ranks of 326 newly-promoted police personnel on January 22 in Camp Florendo in this city.
PCSupt. Marquez is the new Police Regional Office I Director.
PCSupt. Marquez urged his men to always abide by the PNP core values and continue to inspire others by becoming model police officers.
PCSupt. Marquez also urged his men to do their job properly, especially in the upcoming election period so that voters could exercise their rights as Filipino citizens to make free choices and give support to the candidates whom they know would best fit the position, free from any force, intimidation, and reservation.
Out of the 326 newly-promoted policemen, seven were promoted as Police Superintendent, twelve as Police Chief Inspector, two as Police Senior Inspector and nine as Police Inspector.
For the police non-commissioned officers, four were promoted to the rank of Senior Police Officer 4, 56 to Senior Police Officer 3, 17 to Senior Police Officer 2, 28 to Senior Police Officer 1, 93 to Police Officer 3, and 98 to Police Officer 2. (ANL/MPA-PIA 1 La Union with reports from PIO-PRO1)#
