PANGASINAN, Jan. 8 — The province of Pangasinan is set to honor war veterans in the annual Pangasinan Veteran’s Day and the 68th anniversary of the Lingayen Gulf Landings on January 9 at the Veterans Memorial Park in Lingayen town.
Gov. Amado Espino, Jr. said the provincial government holds the meaningful activity yearly aimed at commemorating the noble deeds of war veterans and instilling a sense of patriotism among Pangasinenses especially the youth.
A Thanksgiving Mass is scheduled at 7 a.m. followed by a wreath laying ceremony and a commemorative program honoring the heroism of World War II Veterans.
A video presentation featuring memories of World War II Veterans from Pangasinan, including interviews of surviving heroes, will be shown.
Invited to grace the occasion are Ambassadors Harry Thomas, Jr. of the United States of America, Bill Twedell of Australia and Tosihinao Urabe of Japan.
A medical mission and distribution of gift packs to veterans will cap the event. (ANL/VHS-PIA 1 Pangasinan)
