SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Dec. 14 (PIA) — The Regional Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee (RLECC1) in Ilocos Region has garnered the best regional law enforcement coordinating committee for Luzon to its immeasurable contribution in attaining the National Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee goals and objectives for the period July 16, 2011 to July 15, 2012.
This is due to their successful conduct of programs and projects and activities that are of high impact to achieve NLECC target.
According to Police Chief Supt. Franklin Jesus Bucayu, this only shows that what they have done are relevant and effective.
It served as their inspiration to further intensify their campaign for public safety even though three of the provinces in Region 1 were earlier tagged as election priority areas, Bucayu said.
The plaque of recognition was awarded last December 5 at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
On the incoming 2012 polls, Bucayu said the PNP in Ilocos will implement “Oplan Spikes” which means stop private armies in the Ilocos region.
Oplan Spikes aims to eliminate partisan armed groups and ensure a secure and fair national and local election in the region. (ANL/EMR-PIA 1 La Union with report from PRO1/PSupt. Jovencio S. Badua Jr.)
