POEA provides mobile processing of OEC for “balik-manggagawa”

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Nov 12 (PIA) –The Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), Regional Center for Luzon will provide mobile processing of the Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) for workers on leave or popularly known as the Balik-manggagawa, according to Chief of Regional Center for Luzon Nonette Villanueva.

The Balik-manggagawa will have the option to set an appointment with the POEA for the processing of their exit clearance or OEC, Villanueva said during the recent ‘Ammuentayo’ radio program anchored by the Philippine Information Agency.

The POEA has put up counters in some areas to accommodate those who choose to get their exit clearance at a specific date and time, Villanueva added.

Aside from the one-stop processing at the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Dagupan field office which was scheduled every Wednesday, they will also provide services at the CB Mall Urdaneta, Pangasinan for every 1st and 2nd Fridays of the month; DOLE field office, every 3rd Friday of the week held at Barangay Zone 4, Rosales, Pangasinan and the Provincial Capitol, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte for every 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month.

Villanueva also advised the Balik-manggagawa or the vacationing workers to bring their complete documents to include valid original passport, valid re-entry visa, work permit or any equivalent document, and the latest E-receipt or official receipt of Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration (OWWA), Phil.
