DAGUPAN CITY, Pangasinan, Oct 18 (PIA) — The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) today unveiled its logo for the PhilHealth Run 2013 at the City Deluxe Restaurant here, signifying the launching of the fun run that will be held next year.
The activity is a fund-raising project intended to increase insurance funds, specifically for the benefit of the Kanlungan Center Foundation, which caters to the needs of overseas Filipino workers.
Rose Bayan, coordinator for the foundation, said Kanlungan was chosen to benefit from the project because of its requirement from its members to register in PhilHealth.
Jose A. Mones, fun run coordinator for Region 1, said 18 areas were chosen as key areas on which to hold the event to correspond with the 18th anniversary of the PhilHealth on Feb. 17, 2013.
The fun run will be held in Tuguegarao, Baguio, Clark, Malolos, Manila, Laguna, Batangas, Legazpi, Tacloban, Iloilo, Cebu, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Marawi, Davao, Zamboanga, Koronadal and this city.
Mones said PhilHealth is targeting 5,000 participants in Region 1.
The run is divided into four categories of consisting of 3K, 5K, 10K and 18K. Starting line will be at the Dagupan City Hall.
