LAOAG CITY, Oct. 19 (PIA) — The city government of Laoag once again recognizes families with distinct characteristics and values that can be of example to all families in the entire the city.
The Search for Model Families undertaken annually by the city particularly the Population Commission is a vital program in emphasizing the importance of families and its role in molding young minds in the society.
Embodied with the theme, “Migranteng Pamilyang Pilipino: Patatagin at Patibayin,” the annual search aims to pay tribute to the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) families who despite the distance have maintained their strong bond.
Unlike the previous years where the search has two categories, this year, the city government has crafted three categories to look for model families – the professional category, non-professional and the new OFW category.
