North Luzon navy honors personnel, stakeholders

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Sept 21 (PIA) — The Naval Forces Northern Luzon (NFNL) personnel who have shown remarkable performance in their mandated tasks while the stakeholder’s continuous support to all programs and projects being implemented by the naval force were recognized during the 35th founding anniversary on September 18 at Naval station Ernesto Ogbinar, Poro this city.

Among the awardees were Naval Station Ernesto Ogbinar, NFNL Organic Unit of the Year; Naval Intelligence Service Group Northern Luzon, NFNL Operational Control (Opcon) Unit of the Year; Lt. Rodney P. Cudal, NFNL Organic Officer of the year; Lt. Ronald B. Juan, NFNL Opcon Officer of the Year; EN1 Jose B. Sanchez was awarded as NFNL Organic Enlisted Personnel of the Year CY 2012; QM2 Rubenson F. Panergo, NFNL Opcon Enlisted Personnel of the Year; Armida C. Llaneta, NFNL Civilian Employee of the Year for Administrative Achievement CY 2012; Carlito P. Rioga, NFNL Organic Unit of the Year for Operational Achievement CY 2012; LtCol. Vladimir T. Mata, NFNL Reservist of the Year (Officer) CY 2012 and CPO Priscilla P. Oribello, NFNL Reservist of the Year (Enlisted Personnel) CY 2012.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Environment Management Bureau, Philippine Information Agency and Rotary Club of San Fabian in Pangasinan were given plaques of recognition for their support to the agency.

Vice Admiral Alexander P. Pama of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, flag officer in command of Philippine Navy and guest speaker, congratulated each personnel for their determined commitment to their work during the program.

“You have given a distinct honorable meaning to the word ‘service’ and indeed, live by your motto of vigilance, preparedness and service. Your noble deeds will always be remembered by a grateful maritime nation,” he said.

He also assured that all the selfless efforts, sacrifices and genuine desire for reforms and organizational transformation will enable them to achieve what they hope for a strong and credible navy that the nation can be proud of by 2020.

Anchored with the theme, “Team NBC, Kaakibat sa Mausay at Mabilis na Paglilingkod Tungo sa Matatag at Maaasahang Hukbong Dagat,” Pama said that this year commemoration of the noble commitment and exemplary deeds of NFNL manifests how effective and efficient it has been in the accomplishment of the navy’s mission in the Bayanihan sa Lingayen Golf, Operasyon Rang-ay ti Barangay, Bayanihan sa Casiguran, Territorial Defense and disaster response operations.
