SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Sept 13 (PIA) — The family of Senior Police Officer 4 Igmedio L. Dugeña, assigned at the San Fernando City Police Station, was adjudged 1st runner-up Model PNP Family 2012 contest at the national level.
Other awardees are the families of SPO4 Elmer G. Jaramel of Sta. Cruz Police Station in Ilocos Sur; SPO3 Arcellie O. Pang-ag of Burgos Police Staiton; Police Senior Inspector Judy B. Calica of Bauang Police Station; and SPO4 Rodrigo N. Noe of Aringay Police Station in La Union, said PSupt Jovencio S. Badua, Jr., officer-in-charge, Regional Public Information Office.
Awardees were selected for being God-fearing, responsible and hardworking parents providing for the needs of their families while at the same time serving the force with utmost dedication despite their busy schedule.
SPO4 Dugeña led the regional awardees in receiving the plaque of recognition during the culmination program of the National Crime Prevention Week (NCPW) held recently at Concord Building here.
Meanwhile, Police Officer 2 Dario G. Paragas of Pangasinan Police Provincial Office received a certificate of commendation for gallantry and exceptional courage in the performance of his duty.
Provincial Board Member Joaquin O. Ostrea, guest of honor and speaker, emphasized the government’s role in crime prevention and enjoined government employees not to engage in corruption and always lead by example in their respective families and nurture their children to the right path.
During the culminating program, Police Chief Supt. Franklin Jesus B. Bucayu said crime prevention is not solely a police’s responsibility, and community’s contribution is vital.
