SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Sept 13 (PIA) — The city government of San Fernando conducted its 7th People’s Day in barangays Poro, San Agustin, San Francisco and Canaoay by bringing social services to residents on September 8.
Services included medical consultation, dental, supplemental feeding, circumcision, lectures, and information dissemination on health, agriculture, ordinances, real property, employment, environmental programs, permits and licensing and other services to the residents led by Mayor Pablo C. Ortega.
Barangay officials told the mayor about the flooding in their areas. Mayor Ortega assured them that the city government will find solutions to address their problems.
At the end of the event, the four barangays were awarded a cheque worth P100,000 each, a computer set, and citizen’s charter book.
Ten day-care pupils were also given school supplies.
Present during the People’s Day were Mayor Ortega, Vice Mayor Hermenigildo A. Gualberto, city councilors and Sangguniang Kabataan president.
“OUR HOME – Bringing Services to your Doorstep” is San Fernando’s social services theme as they provide assistance in rural areas through the People’s Day.”
The next People’s Day will be on September 28 at the city’s gym for District II of this city covering barangays Ilocanos Sur, Ilocanos Norte and Pagdaraoan. (ANL/MBR-PIA 1, La Union)
