SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Sept 11 (PIA) — With the commemoration of this year’s National Tourism Week on September 21 to 27, the Department of Tourism Region 1 (DOT-R1) will conduct a Tourism Quiz Bee that will increase the knowledge of students on the different facets of Philippine tourism while giving cognizance to the vital importance of the energy sector in tourism development.
DOT-R1 Senior Tourism Information Officer Evangeline Dadat said the competition is open to all schools, universities and colleges in Region 1 offering tourism courses like Hotel and Restaurant Management, Bachelor of Science in Tourism, among others.
Interested schools or students may call or personally register at their office at Oasis Country Resort, Brgy. Sevilla, this city.
First prize winner will receive P20,000 cash prize; P15,000 for the second prize; and P10,000 for the third prize. All participants will also be given t-shirts and certificates of participation.
Deadline for registration is on September 21. The contest will be held at Hotel Ariana, Paringao, Bauang, La Union on September 27.
