SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, Sept 8 (PIA) — The Province of La Union has been adjudged again as the second ‘Best Performing Province’ for 2011.
Israel O. Rudio, provincial information and tourism officer, said the province maintained its second spot because of the continuous excellent peace, order and security in the province as well as responsive local governance.
Following are the top ten with their respective Overall Performance Index: Bohol, 4.91; La Union, 4.89; Cavite, 4.88; Pangasinan, 4.87; South Cotabato, 4.864; Mt. Province, 4.855; Albay, 4.839; Bulacan, 4.836; Rizal, 4.832 and Ilocos Norte, 4.828, based on the DILG Local Governance Performance Management System.
Governor Manuel C. Ortega encouraged officials and employees of the Provincial Government of La Union to keep up their good work to get at the top.
Meanwhile in a related development, San Fernando City was also declared as number nine with OPI of 4.81 for the ‘Top 10 City Government’ while the municipality of Santol was number three with 4.89 OPI and San Gabriel at number ten with 4.820 for the ‘Top 10 Municipal Governments’ category.
