RDC supports priority program of govt on poverty reduction

SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, July 17 (PIA) — The Regional Development Council spurred up efforts in addressing the poverty problem by focusing more on projects that will pave way in attaining inclusive growth and development.

Among the priority activities for the next semester include the Philippine Development Plan caravan, Region 1 Digital Strategic Planning or paperless transaction, result matrix preparation and finalization activities, productivity and quality activities, National Private-Sector Representatives Convention, National Investment Forum, Statistics Congress, and RDC Awards.

The RDC-1 will also vigorously pursue policy option that cuts poverty, work double time to attain MDG targets, intensify efforts on social reforms along health, education and reproductive health concerns, revive the regional and the local poverty reduction structures, focus on agri-sector as primary sector, promote and advocate private-public partnership, and implement the region’s Area Development Plan.
