LAOAG CITY, July 4 (PIA) — Month of July as per Presidential Proclamation No. 1021 and the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the National Blood Service Act of 1994 was proclaimed as the National Blood Donor’s Month.
The Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), in its continuous efforts to serve the increasing demand for blood in the country, encouraging more blood donors to share a drop of their life by donating a part of their blood.
Embodied with the theme “Every Blood Donor is a Hero,” the this year’s celebration aims to increase awareness of the benefits of voluntary blood donation and to strengthen partnership among implementing agencies.
Thus, the Department of Health (DOH) and the Philippine National Red Cross enjoin the public to donate blood regularly to save lives of those who need it during crucial times. (ANL/CJDG-PIA 1 Ilocos Norte)
