Information to Empower Filipinos DOLE provides better services to schools in Ilocos Norte

AOAG CITY, June 18 (PIA) — The Department of Labor and Employment- Ilocos Norte Field Office (DOLE-INFO) provides better and faster services to public and private secondary schools in Ilocos Norte through the creation of a Career Guidance Network.

The Career Guidance Network is a unification of guidance counsellor from different schools in the province as one organization task to extend services from DOLE.

DOLE-INFO head Mr. Engracio Bailon said that the creation of said network will enhance their services resulting in immediate delivery of services and information to students.

The Career Guidance Network was launched last March 31 and attended by 31 participants representing various schools at the DOLE- INFO office presided by Bailon.

Topics presented during the meeting includes the legal bases for the creation of a Career Guidance Network. Modules on Career Guidance and Employment Coaching were likewise discussed and Philjobnet registration was also demonstrated to the participants.

Leonevella Dadiz, DOLE Ilocos Norte information officer said that their department wants to unify guidance counsellor from different schools to train them to market employment.

“This will also strengthen the partnership between our department and the schools, and to have better coordination when it comes to DOLE’s programs” Dadiz added.

During the meeting, Bailon also informed the participants on the importance of the Career Guidance Network and the assistance DOLE could extend to them following the creation of their association.

DOLE will provide assistance to the group which includes registration of their association at the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and provision of training to its members in the future. (ANL/CDG-PIA 1 Ilocos Norte)
