SAN FERNANDO CITY, La Union, May 22 (PIA) — Aiming to deliver various services in their areas to respond to their basic needs, the City Government of San Fernando has undertaken an activity dubbed as “People’s Day” to District XI here, which is composed of seven barangays, last May 18.
These barangays are Cabarsican, Masicong, Nagyubuyuban, Pacpaco, Pao Sur, Pao Norte, and Sacyud.
Among the services brought to them include a complete package medical mission, which includes free circumcision, dental check-up along with the provision of basic medicines, feeding program, and parlor games for children.
There were also assigned employees of the city government who lectured on the field of agriculture, environment, health, social development, real property, civil registration, and others, enabling to provide them information on different topics especially among farmers.
Mayor Pablo C. Ortega and Vice Mayor Hermenegildo A. Gualberto, together with the Sanguniang Panglungsod led in the the distribution of computers, citizen charters, school supplies to children, and a P100,000 check to each barangay, which served as the highlight of People’s Day.
According to Ortega, this fund will be used to build and improve their stage to be used when there are occasions in the area, and the citizen’s charter will guide them to know more the various services offered by the city government. (ANL/MHH-PIA 1 La Union)
