SAN CARLOS CITY, Pangasinan, May 13 (PIA) — A Pangasinense cop died Thursday, May 10, in pursuit of fulfilling his duties to watch over the delegates of the Palarong Pambansa billeted here.
PO2 Angel V. Del Rosario, 36, of barangay Sta. Lucia, Urdaneta City experienced heatstroke while driving his Honda Wave motorcycle. He allegedly lost his driving control and bumped into a Digitel telephone post at the north side of the road in Barangy Culiling, San Carlos City at 4:30 p.m. of May 10 on his way to Central II Elementary School, the police spot report said.
The report, as relayed by PO2 Louie Padilla of Urdaneta City Police, said Del Rosario was rushed to the Blessed Family Doctors hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Padilla added that Del Rosario’s wife said the policeman already felt dizzy before he left the house but insisted that he has to perform his duty.
Del Rosario is assigned at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Urdaneta City station of but was temporarily assigned in San Carlos City to augment the police force that will provide peace and security to the delegates of the national games being held in Pangasinan from May 6-12.
The PNP said Del Rosario’s wife and his three children who are still in elementary grades will receive the necessary benefits. (JCR/VHS-PIA1 Pangasinan)
